Endorsement:

Paula Romang’s book, Thriving in the Barren Place: How Trust in God Fueled My Journey

Through Heartache and Loss, was one of the best books I read last year. I was on a three-day study break in a cabin when I read it, and there were times I was so moved I had to stop reading and walk around the cabin. At other times, I was so moved, I stopped and prayed the Lord would increase my faith the way He did in Paula’s life.

The account is what I call “earthy spirituality.” Paula doesn’t whitewash the pain but deals with it honestly, faithfully, and biblically. I see her living her faith as part of our local church family where I’m privileged to serve as her family’s pastor.

Reading the book, I was reminded there are still many good things in the midst of such pain. I encourage you to read this faith-extending account, too.
